| Ive had it a few days, and each time you plug in your droid, it asks you if you want a bedside clock or working calendar type of display. I think its great. | |||||

This dock for the Droid 3 is well made, but there are a few things to keep in mind (some of which may be obvious, but Im not sure). - The power source (or the USB port on the dock) must be plugged into an AC power source. You cant plug the dock into your PC. It will neither charge, nor have PC connectivity if you plug the dock into the PC - you can only plug the dock into AC power. Those hoping to have the dock sit next to their PC and dock for PC connectivity will be disappointed. - The phone can take a bit of handling to get into the dock. I found it works best if the side with the connectors (the right side in the horizontal position) is eased into the dock first. Get the connectors on the right side lined up first, and then lower the left side of the phone. Using this dock, you will get scratches on your phone near your connectors. That is, when youre trying to dock it, its easy to scratch your phone when youre trying to get the plugs of the dock and your connectors to line up. Ive been using it a week and find the area near the connectors has been quite noticably scratched by me trying to fit the phone into the dock. Not a big deal for me personally, but something to be aware of. - When the phone is in the dock, it stays in. You can tip the dock upside down, and itll stay in. So it can be a bit of a pain if you need to undock it when its a fair distance away, or its the middle of the night. (When Im reaching from bed to undock it, it can require a bit of force - I occasionally find I pick up the dock along with the phone). Once again, pulling first from the side with the connectors helps this, but its still something to be aware of. I havent tested the other connectivity options (HDMI and 3.5mm audio), but its good that theyre there - so thats a plus. |
