The name OtterBox has become synonymous with unrivaled protection, and its Defender series cases are truly unmatched. I never hesitate to recommend OtterBox products to people looking to keep their phone in great shape for the duration of their two-year contract. Simply put, you’d be hard pressed to damage your investment with an OtterBox on its back.

For those who swear to protect their Nexus til its dying day, the Defender series cannot be beat, and it’s $40 price tag is chump change compared to the $500 you’d spend replacing a shattered Nexus. It’s compatible with both the standard and extended battery (the latter fits a bit snugly), which makes the Defender series the universal choice for ultimate protection. I do wish that OtterBox would refine its hard-shell layer, which is currently pretty jagged and ugly, to let users forego the rubberized outer shell in the event of necessary pocketability. I also wish OtterBox would continue to work on its screen protector, which is thrilling in theory but nearly unusable in practice. Despite its few shortcomings, the Defender series may just be the best $40 a clumsy Nexus owner can spend.

Pros:	Great case ..feels good and protects real good when dropped
Cons:	Belt clip keeps breaking

Five stars if the clip were made stronger..has broken 3 times already..Otter has been great about replacements but perhaps a.metal hinge on the clip would prevent alot of replacements from being sent out..still think its a great case as I have dropped my phone on concrete floor more times than anyone would believe..with zero damage!

Great Protection

Pros:	Extremely well built and feels rugged in your hands. Easy to put together. all plugs have easy access and when not plugged in are well protected.
Cons:	Built in screen protector distorts my Galxay Nexuss beautiful screen and colors.

I would have given this a 5 but the screen protector was appearing foggy in various places when I would touch my screen and made for hard viewing. I removed the screen from case and all is well and protected my screen with a Zagg cover.

Pros:	Rugged case design, button covers are responsive.
Cons:	Screen Protector is terrible

I ordered this case through Verizon before it was available anywhere else shortly after getting my phone when it was first released. People will complain about the bulk that it adds to the phone but come on anyone should know by now that these cases will do that going in so it shouldnt be a surprise to anyone.

This case will fit with the extended battery but it is a tight fit although I have not had any problems with the hard plastic case part coming apart despite the tight fit. All ports and buttons are covered with this case and the buttons work every time.

My only CON to the case is the built it screen protector. It has a horrible matte like finish that almost pixelates the HD screen when it is turned up past anything but 30. As I am a user who loves a big bright screen this was a must go and I punched it out of the case, this can be done because it is attached by an adhesive and not baked into the rest of the case.

Overall I would definitly recommend this case to anyone who might be prone to a dropped phone or want some rugged protection for their precious just in case.
